Abstract
Aviation safety a top priority in the process of civil flight operations and military flight operation. Flights running securely and safely supported by ground personnel and ground staff which one of them is the flight operation unit. The most dominant cause of the accident and flight that incident is human errors. Causes of accidents and incidents since 2010 most airlines still dominated by human errors up to 67.12 percent, 15.75 percent technical factors, environmental 12.33 percent, and 4.79 percent of facilities or infrastructure. Therefore, this study aims to determine the level of mental workload of the flight personnel operation that is based on the characteristics of the study subjects such as age, years of service, job title, and each unit of division and how to overcome them. The process does is measure the mental workload of the six dimensions of mental demands, physical demande, temporal demands, performance, frustration and effort level using the NASA-TLX (Task Load Index). Data obtained by interview and questionnaire. And the steps being taken are weighted and rating, calculates the weighted workload, calculate the average weighted workload (WWL), and interpretation of scores to determine the level of mental workload experienced by the personnel. This discussion resulted in the average of the highest WWL based on each of the characteristics of the subject. Based on the age range 51-60 years old personnel amounted to 80.8, based on the group years of service with tenure of 31- 40 years at 80.3, based on job positions, personnel with a position as manager at 85, based on the division unit is a group of units crew scheduling at 79.8. Interpretation of recapitulation value WWL personnel who are at very high classification amounted to 19 personnel, and high classification amounted to 8 personnel and then personnel WWL highest value is Riswanto Chendra Putra is at 85 while the lowest WWL is Bagus.P at 73
