Abstract

Aviation safety is a condition for fulfilling safety requirements in the use of airspace, aircraft, airports, air navigation and supporting facilities, and other public facilities. To achieve flight safety, the person in charge of carrying out flight operations service activities, monitoring aircraft movements, vehicle traffic, people and goods, air cleanliness, and recording and flight are called Apron Movement Control (AMC). This study aims to determine the level of mental workload based on the classification of respondents, indicators and also based on the characteristics of research subjects such as age, years of service and positions held by AMC personnel at Yogyakarta Adisutjipto International Airport where the airport is one of the busiest international airports that the complexity of air traffic, both from within the country and from abroad. The process carried out was to measure the overall mental workload of the six subscales, namely mental demand, physical demand, temporal demand, performance, frustration, and effort using the NASA-TLX (Task Load Index) method where the steps needed to be carried out were weighting, rating, calculating product values, calculating weighted workload, calculating WWL averages, and interpreting scores to determine the level of mental workload experienced by AMC personnel. Based on result of the research conducted, the level of mental workload on the pesonil apron movement control (AMC) in Yogyakarta Adisutjipto airport is based on the three characteristics of the subjects there are Age, Working Period and Position. The three subject characteristics at AMC in Adisutjipto have high types. Based on result of the research in the Apron Movement Control (AMC) unit Angkasa Pura 1 Yogyakarta Adisucipto International Airport, the interpretation of the recapitulation of the calculation of the mental workload value of employees in the class of mental workload is very high, amounting to 6 people and a high of 5 people.
