Abstract

Air conditioning system is one of the main safety and convenience systems to passenger in the aircraft. Nowadays there are so many high end aircraft which are equipped with air conditioning system, and almost all the commercial aircrafts in domestic and international are using pressurize system. From June 2015 to December 2018 (aircraft operational times), it was found that in one system of Boeing 737-900ER aircraft happened to have a failure in air conditioning system as much as 24 times. Fault tree analysis is one method to identify risks that happened in a failure. This method is using top down approachment, it started with failure assumption at the top event, after that detailing every cause that happened in the top event through the failure ness. After making fault tree diagram the evaluation with minimum cut set is done. The results of top event air conditioning system failure are obtained 7 intermediate event with OR logic gate and 5 basic event, also the dominate failure that causing the failure of air conditioning system in Boeing 737-900ER aircraft is unreset ram door actuator in the amount of 0,000480 or 0,048 % per flight hour.
