Abstract
Recently, the need and consumtion of energy just depend on using petroleum energy which is a non-renewable fuel. On the other hand, there is a big quantity of biomass energy which is quite abundant that has not been optimized. One of the utilization a biomass energy is production of briquettes. The aim of this research is to identify the effects of compotition of a mixture briquette from bamboo waste and rice husk on the heating value, moisture content, ash content, and briquette combustion rate. This study used an experimental method by mixing bamboo waste charcoal and rice husk with a compotition 85:15 (%), 80:20 (%), 75:25 (%), 70:30 (%), using tapioca flour adhesive as 7%, and the briquette weight of 20 gram. The result of the research showed that each addition to the compotition of rice husk charcoal decreased of moisture content, heating value, briquette combustion rate, and increased an ash content. All the tests have met the quality standarts of the briquettes used, except for the ash content value, with the best result in the A1 (85 % bamboo waste charcoal and 15 % rice husk charcoal) variation, with the heating value of 6233,912 cal/gr, moisture content of 3,76 %, ash content of 12,16 %, and combustion rate of 0,026789 gr/min
