Abstract

All human activities must have a workload, whether light, moderate, or heavy. Workload is the effort that a person must expend to fulfill the objectives of the work. Giwangan Market is wrong one main fruit and vegetable market in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY). In the beginning planning the function of the Giwangan market hangar can run well with a layout arranged by the City Government, but over time Market conditions have become irregular as many traders sell at parking lots, around the road, and places for loading and unloading goods so that it creates vehicles that want to pass, park, and carry out the loading and unloading process experience difficulty. Market conditions like this make fruit truck drivers experience pressure because they often wait too long when they want to do something process of loading and unloading goods. Therefore, workload measurements were carried out to see the large mental workload of truck drivers and can be evidence and consideration for the City Government to make improvements to the market Giwangan. The aim of this research is to measure the workload of truck drivers, find out whether there are differences in workload between age groups and What is the relationship between the workload received and the age of the driver? Workload measurements were carried out using the National Aeronautics And method Space Administration Task Load Index (TLX), NASA-TLX method is subjective mental workload measurement with multidimensional/consisting of 6 indicators. The results of this research show that The workload received by fruit truck drivers is relatively high, namely 70.26 with The value that dominates the high workload is Mental Demand, namely 288. The results of the Mann-Whitney Difference Test show that current market conditions are influencing significantly both age groups, as well as in the correlation test stated that As age increases, the mental workload of drivers will decrease. Truck drivers currently receive a high workload due to market conditions which is not good, therefore needs to be repaired and reorganized Giwangan market to reduce the workload of fruit truck drivers.
