Abstract

Using analog measuring instruments sometimes does not provide accurate results. Tool Analog meters can only measure current signals in sinusoidal form. But on In reality, the shape of the electric current signal is not always a perfect sinusoid. The shape of the current signal changes according to the characteristics of the load on a device Suite. So an RMS current meter is needed that can measure various types of current waveform. In this research, the current from the load is passed to the current sensor converts the current into a voltage that represents the load current. Sensor output voltage The current will be fed to the microcontroller to be converted into digital current data and then it will be sampled 128 times the input voltage frequency. For calculate the RMS current value using an algorithm from previous research has been developed. The test results show that this system can measure current RMS up to 5 amperes with an input voltage frequency of 35 – 156 Hz with the linear load error is 0.496939% and the nonlinear load error is 0.413107%.
