Abstract
The geographical location of Indonesia which is among the confluence of three major world plates becomes one of the frequent factors of natural disasters. When natural disasters occur, many destroyed buildings include the Base Transceiver Station Tower (BTS). This causes the communication network to become obstructed. One way to overcome this is with the provision of BTS that has a relatively small size so that the problem can be solved and can be used in emergency conditions. One important component in a BTS is the antenna. The study designed a microstrip antenna with a working frequency of 900 MHz for the GSM (Global System For Mobile) network with a line feed. The Microstrip antenna is designed in rectangular form using an epoxy substrate that has a 4.4 dielectric constant and a thickness of 1.6 mm. The addition of a Patch to an antenna array has the purpose of increasing the gain of the antenna, and the addition of U-slots aims to increase the range on the Bandwidth of the already-simulate antenna even the small antenna dimensions. Microstrip Antenna 1 Patch produced works at frequencies 900 MHz obtained by Return loss of-19.933 dB, Bandwidth 20.4 MHz (2.26%), VSWR 1.224, gain 5.26 dB. On antenna microstrip Array 2 Patch obtained 20 MHz Bandwidth (2.2%) and 7.206 dB gain. On antenna microstrip Array 4 Patch obtained Bandwidth 28.9 MHz (3.21%) and 10.341 dB gain. Simulation using the Ansoft HVSS software.
