Abstract

Detecting malware digitally forensically on downloaded software can more effectively prevent and overcome malware threats, as well as minimize the impact on data security, and reduce the negative impact caused by malware on mobile devices. This research aims to analyze the types of malware found in downloading applications on the Play Store, as well as developing a forensic analysis method to detect and visualize the results of forensic analysis of malware. This analysis stage begins by taking samples of all Android applications that have been downloaded and installed on the smartphone, then to detect the presence of malware, a scanning and analysis process is carried out using the second party applications Virus Total and ESET Security with computer forensic techniques. Next, the results of all the data obtained are displayed in graphical report form in order to integrate reports from various existing data sources. This research provides an overview of how to analyze malware for applications on the Android system and information about the malware that infects the application. The results of the analysis of applications have different levels of detection and categories of types of malware. Applications require access permissions that are not appropriate for the application's usefulness
