Abstract

Composite is a material formed from a combination of two or more constituent materials through an inhomogeneous mixture, where the mechanical properties of each constituent material are different. Composite materials generally consist of two elements, namely fiber as a filling material and matrix as a binding material for fibers that are formed on a macroscopic scale and physically fused. The word composite is an adjective that means arrangement or combine. This research can be a reference for making structures in the cross section of drones, ships, brake linings. The research method used is the Hand Lay-Up method. This study was conducted using banana frond fiber filler with variations of Arahserat 0°, 45°, 90°. The results obtained from the study were 0° fiber direction of 17,859 MPa, while the lowest tensile strength was found in composites with 45° fiber direction variations of 11,033 Mpa. This made him faint that this type of composite with fiber direction already met the air pressure standards for the manufacture of drones. While the highest impact strength variation in fiber direction is 0.065 J/mm2, 45° is 0.0511 J/mm², while the lowest impact strength is found in composites with a 90° fiber direction variation of 0.045 J/mm2.
