Abstract

Aircraft noise is generated as a result of aircraft operating activities or aircraft components. Excessive noise can arise from the engine noise and airframe noise that occurs on aircraft. This research was conducted using samples from CASA NC-212-200 aircraft equipped with turboprop engine types. The purpose of this study was to find out how much noise levels occurred in the flying phase of the aircraft and by using varying loads. The measurement of noise level generated by the operation of aircraft was measured using a Sound Level Meter device in the units of sound intensity levels called decibels (dB). The measurement of noise levels in the aircraft flying phase was based on the four references, namely LAmax, LAmin, LAeq, and No Acoustical Change (NAC). In this flying phase, the load used by the aircraft was 6,850 kg, 7,100 kg, 7,200 kg, and 7,300 kg. In the flying phase, with a load of 6,850 kg, the noise level generated was take-off LAmax 91.8 dB, LAmin 89.5 dB, LAeq 90.6 dB, Climb LAmax 90.9 dB, LAmin 88 dB, LAeq 89.05 dB, Cruise LAmax 89.9 dB, LAmin 85.1 dB, LAeq 87.05 dB, Landing LAmax 89.9 dB, LAmin 85.8 dB, and LAeq 87.8 dB. With the NAC calculations, the noise level that occurred in each phase has increased about 1.0573145 dB at a load of 6,850 kg.
