Abstract

To preserve Indonesia territory, air force is very important when it comes to war strategy. The used aircraft for defense are different from civilian aircraft. In order to hava a good quality aircraft, requires aircraft maintenance to minimize failure. The Grob G120TP-A aircraft is one of the training aircraft which is the responsibility of the 043 Engineering Squadron which requires aircraft maintenance. This study discusses one of the failures in the Oil System. These failures can be analyzed using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis method. The aim of this reserch was to find out the causes of failure in the Oil System on the Grob G120TP=A. The data used is a daily record from the 043 Engineering Squadron for the periof 2017-2020. The method used is the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method, Logic Tree Analysis (LTA) and the determination of the Risk Priority Number (RPN) value. The first step is to identify the failure in each component. Each failure mode and the effect of failure the occur on each component are described in the FMEA table. After that, the Risk Priority Number analysis was carried out by looking at the severity, occurrence, and detection level of each component. The results in this study shows that the identification of oil system failures are 30 failures in the oil temperature, 14 failures in the oil leak, and 6 failures in the oil chip. From the level of risk of failure that occurs, all failures have a moderate level of risk, namely the oil temperature with a RPN value of 160, oil leak with a RPN value of 160, and oil chip with a RPN value of 160.
