Abstract

PUNA is an aircraft controlled by pilot remotely and programmed to fly independently by electronic devices. PUNA cargo design used for bringing medical to Indonesian’s territory especially for natural disasters area, isolation area, and poor equality of health area. Therefore, the initial design of PUNA cargo was created with payload 10 kg capable of vertical take off and landing VTOL. The initial design of the aircraft was based on Raymer book. The initial design process started with determining DR & O, calculating geometry of aircraft components, and conducting structural analysis of wing on the aircraft. The final result of research are design 3D of PUNA used CATIA and produced safety status of wing structure with ANSYS. The configuration of the aircraft has rectangular wing, high wing position, location of engine is pusher, tailboom shape, and the material of PUNA is epoxy carbon woven. Wing Area of PUNA is 16,791 ft2 and wing span is 10,910 ft. Results of aircraft total weight is 67,212 lb and based on wing structure analysis using maneuver and negative limit loading, the maximum equivalent stress is 34,882 Mpa dan 13,769 Mpa, deformation is 0,049207 ft dan 0,019424 ft. Value of the failure criteria according to Tsai Hill method is 0,067344 and 0,031077 which is less than 1 therefore the wing structure is safe.
