Abstract

In the last decade, the development of communication has increased, so that emerging new infrastructure and technology that can improve high-speed data services in the future. At this time, the technology is using multi-antenna techniques and uses Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). But in mobile communication system using OFDM will be sensitive to the influence of the Doppler shift and will result in Inter Carrier Interference (ICI). To compensate for the effect of the Doppler shift on the communication system with the rice channel, a modified Jakes model is needed. Based on the simulation, the communication system on the rice channel has a better performance than the Rayleigh channel with a small slope width. Doppler shift in the ricean channel with a factor value of K 16.77 dB, has a smaller fluctuating curve at magnitude and phase response than the curve on the Rayleigh channel. So that the communication system that operates at high speed, to improve the high Doppler shift is using a rice channel with a higher K factor value.
