Abstract

Rapid population growth makes the need for people to travel comfortably, quickly and safely is very desirable. Air transportation is able to meet the needs of today's society. Air transportation is able to meet the needs of today's society. Airlines provide solutions by opening routes to areas that are not yet connected to air transportation. The two provincial capitals, namely Tanjung Selor and Samarinda, are areas that have potential in various sectors, which has not been connected to air transportation. The only connection between these two areas is land transportation with a travel time of approximately 14 hours. The route opening analysis in this study was carried out by analyzing market aspects, airplane selection, operational cost calculation, and ticket pricing, which will be used for the Tanjung Selor – Samarinda route for one trip. The results of the analysis of the route from Tanjung Harapan Airport (Tanjung Selor) - Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Airport (Samarinda) which has a distance of 357km using ATR72-600 aircraft, obtained a total operating cost of Rp.41.275.133,05,- and the ticket price of Rp.630.592,31,- with 10% profit with 100% load factor, Rp.1.212.677,52,- with a load factor of 52%, and Rp.659.255,60,- with a profit of 15% with a load factor of 100%, Rp.1.267.799,23,- with a load factor of 52%.
