Abstract

Wing body overheat detection system is a system that detects overheat in the wing body. The detection system is an electrical detection system that responds to overheating by activating warning light. If there is a damage to the system it will affect the work of the system itself and the system that is directly related to the wing body overheat detection system. Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737-500 aircraft experienced wing body overheat. the problem that occurs is that before the hot air in the pipe (air duct) is flowed, the warning light for the wing body overheat is on. The problem is solved by a troubleshooting process that refers to the AMM Boeing 737-500 chapter 26-18-00 and the fault tree analysis (FTA) method is used to identify the possibilities that cause the failure of the wing body overheating detection system on the Sriwijaya Air Boeing 737- 500. The results of the troubleshooting that caused the failure of the Boeing 737-500 aircraft in the form of the sensing element was damaged resulting in a short loop or a short loop and sensing must be replaced. By analyzing the possible causes of failure of the wing body overheat detection system using the FTA method, it was found that the cause that triggered the wing body overheating on the aircraft was the release of the mounting clip on the sensing element so that the sensing element touched the fuselage.
