Abstract

Boeing 737-900 ER aircraft, first launched on July 18, 2005 The aircraft was first used by Lion Air. cockpit of the Boeing 737-900 ER (Extended Range), has been equipped with a Head Up Display (HUD). The landing gear of the Boeing 737-900 ER has a tricycle type configuration with air/oil shock struts. Landing gear consists of two parts, namely Main gear and Nose gear. To keep the aircraft safe and controllable, the landing gear must maintained be regularly In this study using the method of observation and information from various sources. This study also uses the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method to determine the root cause of the failure of the Wheel steering system on the Boeing 737 - 900 ER aircraft. The results of the research on the Steering system Boeing 737 - 900 ER aircraft is to analyze the causes of failure in the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) heel the steering system using.obtained 3 basic events consisting of vibration, lubrication, corrosion that can trigger the top event.
