Abstract

oeing 737-500 aircraft are supported by six tires wich are divided into main gear and nose gear.Each main wheel is equipped with a mutli-disc brake unit which is driven by hidraulich,The brakes can be used manually with the brake pedal in the cocpit or automatically with an automatic brake system controlled by the selector valve in the control panel of the pilot. Analysis of the failures that occur in the brake system is based on observations and information obtained from field instructor and mechanics. In addition to using the observation method, this study also use fault tree analysis to find the cause of the problem of losing the main brake control function from the pilot on the boeing 737-500 aircraft. After knowing the problem the initial inspection process is caried out based onte Aircraft Maintananance Manual Chapter 32 Landing gear , page block 601-699.the failure comes from the brake shuttle valve that is leakage The brake shuttle valve and brake matering valve is due to the poor installation resulting in damage. Analysis cause related to the Total loos off braking ability by using fault tree analysis method, in the 7 basic event:Broken valve,lees hidrolik,broken seal,inappropriate torque,less hidrolik,leaky valve,corrosion
