Abstract

The hydraulic power system is a system on aircraft that uses fluid pressure (hydraulic) as a medium to move systems related to other components, such as moving spoilers, landing gear, flaps, slats, ailerons, elevators, brakes, steering wheel. The hydraulic system on the Boeing 737 next generation aircraft is divided into two types, namely: hydraulic system A and hydraulic system B. If there is a failure in the hydraulic system, the flight control system and landing gear will experience slow movement. In this study using the method of observation and information from various sources. In addition, this study also uses the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method, to determine the root cause of failure in the main hydraulic system of the Boeing 737-8000 NG aircraft. The results showed that there was a leak (leakage) in the hydraulic channel reservoir system B due to the hardened packing seal and worn-out damper. The failure results from the fault tree analysis in the form of damaged seal packing, wear dampers, vibrations, vibrations.
