Abstract
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) is an unmanned aircraft that can be operated or controlled without a pilot, UAV has been widely developed by civilians with specific purposes such as regional monitoring missions, thus research is needed to determine the right type of airfoil for Uav aircraft. In this study, 3 different types of airfoils were used, namely: NACA 4412, EPPLER 668, and EPPLER 420 to find out aerodynamic characteristics using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to get the right airfoil for a fixed wing vtol uav skaywalker aircraft using a chord len gth of 1000 mm and the speed used is 19.4 m/s. The results of the simulation were obtained there is an Airfoil suitable for use on a skywalker fixed wing vtol uav aircraft based on that flying mission and the Initial Airfoil Criteria is the EPPLER 420 airfoil which has a Max thinkness of 12%, max chamber 4%, CLmax 2,358718, αmax 20°, and CL0 0,481148.
