Abstract

The problem plastic waste still becomes one of problems that never ends as long as there is life there definitely be producing waste. The higher the population the more waste produced. Waste has several categories, namely toxic waste, solid waste that cannot be decomposed and solid waste can be decomposed. Toxic waste is waste that contains chemical substance in it. Biodegradable waste is waste that can be decomposed by nature. Solid waste that cannot be decomposed is waste that cannot be integrated with nature for a long time. Plastic is a staple material that is widely used in industry and trade. The use of plastic is widely used as a basic packaging material because the price of plastic is relatively cheaper compared to other materials. A plastic chopper machine is manufactured that can be used to break down plastic waste as the basic material for a product. The desired recycling process is to convert plastic waste into plastic flakes. A plastic chopping machine made with a capacity of 10 kg/hour to be able to chop plastic waste with certain specifications where not all plastic waste can be chopped with this machine. This plastic chopping machine has gone through the testing stage with the results in accordance with the design of the plastic chopping machine.
