Abstract

Karate is a martial art originating from Japan which was brought into Japan via Okinawa. This martial art is called “tote” which means like “Chinese hand”. Gojukai has a Gojuryu style of Karate with the characteristics of Karate being gentle but still hard. In the process of assessing karate students, several criteria were needed to measure the talent interest of students in the field of self- defense, especially karate. In order to make the right decisions in this study, the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method was used. The calculation test performed by comparing manual calculations with on the system using the SAW method, shows that the calculation results obtained are the same. Testing the results of the recommendations on a number of 30 students who have been tested with a comparison between student interests, the trainer's recommendation test and the system using the SAW method shows that the percentage of the equation is 76.6667%.
