Abstract

A payload rocket (rocket payload) is an unmanned rocket system that functions as a provider of information in the form of conditions of altitude, temperature, humidity, compass when positioned above the cloud, or sending data in the form of photos above the cloud. It cannot be reached by humans when aiming to find out the situation at a certain altitude without the help of other tools such as a rocket payload. Therefore, the payload of the rocket requires a system that can control it remotely. A ground station system capable of controlling and monitoring the results of sensor readings sent by the payload via radio telemetry and displaying the readings from sensor data that has been installed on the rocket payload. In this study, a ground station system has been created that functions as a display of data sent by the rocket payload. This ground station display uses Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 software. This system is designed to send commands to the rocket payload to send sensor data to the ground station. With this ground station system, users can monitor the results of sensor readings on the payload in real-time. From the research, it can be shown the visualization results from reading the sensor data sent by the rocket payload. The sensor accuracy data obtained shows that the sensor works well, where the compass sensor shows an average accuracy of 95,79%, the humidity sensor shows an average accuracy of 96,68%, the temperature sensor shows an average accuracy of 98,95%, the accelerometer sensor can display the same value as the comparison tool, and testing the communication distance obtained a maximum distance of 350 meters with decreased terrain and many trees.
