Abstract

At this time many campuses have not utilized technology for student attendance, so that it will result in the emergence of attendance data and attendance data manually. By using student cards as attendance access, it will be more effective, efficient, and simplify the process of collecting student technology data. In this study, a attendance prototype was made that functions for student attendance by utilizing wifi as a data sender. The design of the attendance system uses the NodeMCU ESP8266 module as a receiver, processes and sends data using wi-fi, the RFID module as access used by students for attendance, LCD as a display of attendance information from students, LED as an indicator if the attendance access is successful, and google spreadsheet is used to Store student attendance information. Information from KTM that is sent and stored on google spreadsheet is information on time, date, UID number, name, and NIM. The results of the research show that the designed tool can work well according to the function of each component. The RFID reader can read ID well on the KTM with a maximum distance of 2.7 cm with an average response time when the KTM is attached to the RFID Reader 0.118 seconds and sends a signal to the NodeMCU ESP8266 module that has been uploaded to the program. The NodeMCU ESP8266 module will receive and process the signal when the KTM has been registered. Then NodeMCU ESP8266 will send student attendance information to Google Spreadsheet with an average response time of 4.93 seconds.
