Abstract

The Indonesian Railroad Limited Liability Company (Persero) is a company that provides rail transportation services, and pays attention to the comfort and safety of its passengers. This relates to Condition Based Maintenance (CBM). Based on interviews with the KAI facility maintenance team, the battery temperature reached 74°C which resulted in the locomotive's battery exploding because it could not withstand the heat. In this final project, a system will be designed to detect a significant increase in temperature with a temperature range of 10°C to 13°C and even more. Heat temperature data on the CC201 locomotive will be displayed on an application on a smartphone in the form of a graph and there will be a notification when an increase in temperature is detected. The design of this tool consists of 2 DS18B20 sensors, LEDs, and the NodeMCU ESP8266 module as a processor and sends notifications to the user's smartphone. Based on the results of the tests that have been carried out in this final project, this tool can read heat temperature increases from 10°C to 13°C and has a sensor error of 1.7% for room sensors and 1.05% for battery sensors after calibration. Sending data information to applications on smartphones using the NodeMCU ESP8266 module with a Wi-Fi network with the accuracy sent and received is affected by the internet network connection. The display on the mit app inventor application on the smartphone is in accordance with the test on the sensor.
