Abstract

The control system is a system that can command, direct and manage components and devices to work as desired. The control system is also present in aircraft which aims to control the aircraft while in the air, one of which is the ailerons. The aileron function is to perform rolling movements on the lateral axis, from this movement there are several types of movements, one of which is the Dutch roll. When an airplane is moving in the air, the control of the aircraft through the ailerons becomes unstable due to irregular air (turbulence). Therefore we need a method to stabilize the problem state so that the aircraft can move smoothly and safely. Dutch roll is the movement between the rolling control linkage and the lateral axis caused by the movement of the ailerons. The Dutch roll specification is known through the parameter data of the lateral motion of the Boeing 747 aircraft. The parameter data is used to calculate the transfer function value where this value will be simulated on a simulink to obtain the root locus point. The root locus point will be used to calculate the damping value which then calculates the lead compensator value which functions to stabilize the dutch roll control system. The results of this Dutch roll control system were tested using the lead compensator method to produce a better level of stability, in testing with the root locus it gets 5 % more stable than without lead compesator, then tested on the bode diagram analysis to get 10% more stable results than the previous test (root locus), then on the 5% bode diagram analysis test, got more stable results than the previous bode diagram analysis test (10 %) and in the bode diagram analysis test 2.5%, the result is more stable than the previous bode diagram analysis test (5%).
