Abstract

The development of technology in the manufacturing industry, especially in the production of unmanned aerial vehicles, has resulted in significant progress. Composites are formed from a combination of two or more materials with different mechanical properties. The matrix acts as a binding material, while the reinforcement acts as a strengthening material. Powder is generally used as reinforcement in composites. This study aims to test the bending strength of teak sawdust composites with a volume fraction of 10% corncob powder - 20% teak wood powder - 70% epoxy resin and hardener, 10% corn cob powder - 30% teak wood powder - 60% resin epoxy and hardener, 10% corncob powder – 40% teak sawdust - 50% epoxy resin and hardener. The standard used in the test is ASTM D 790-99 for bending strength. The results showed that the highest bending strength in the volume fraction of 10% corn cob powder and 20% teak wood powder was 34.414 N/mm2 while the lowest bending strength in the volume fraction of 10% corn cob powder and 40% teak wood powder was 16.133 N/mm2. The higher the volume fraction of teak sawdust, the bending strength of the composite will tend to decrease.
