Abstract
Currently, many polymer composites with natural fibers are used developed because it is relatively cheap and environmentally friendly.Purpose This research is to determine bending strength and fracture morphology polypropylene composite with pineapple leaf fiber and palm fiber as reinforcement. The reinforcing material used in making composites is leaf fiber pineapple, palm fiber, and the matrix is polypropylene plastic. Method used is compression molding and heated in an oven at 250º C for 60 minutes. The variation used in this research is a volume fraction of 15%, 20%, and 25%. From the test results of composite specimens of pineapple leaf fiber and palm palm fiber The highest bending strength results were obtained at a volume fraction of 15% 68.76 MPa and the lowest bending strength occurs at a volume fraction of 25% 46.84 MPa. Based on the SEM test results, it can be seen that there are vacancies and fracture in the composite. Therefore it can be concluded that increasingly The more pineapple leaf fiber and sugar palm fiber increases, the bending strength increases reduce.
