Abstract

In the aircraft manufacturing industry, especially unmanned aircraft, namely drones, composite materials have been widely used in several parts of aircraft as a substitute for aluminum alloy with composites resulting in weight savings in aircraft structures. In the process of making specimens using "Curing" heat treatment with temperature variations of 65°C, 55°C, 45°C, and 35°C and without curing as a comparison, and the manufacturing method used is the hand-lay up method. In this test using tensile testing with reference to ASTM D3039. Before carrying out the manufacturing process, the volume fraction calculation is carried out first. Tensile testing was carried out using a Universal Testing Machine (UTM). The results obtained after tensile testing were the ultimate tensile strength value of the composite with a temperature of 55°C which is 907.156 Mpa greater than the composite with a temperature of 45°C, without curing, a temperature of 65°C and a temperature of 35°C. For the average composite ultimate tensile strain which is 35°C, it is 23.645 greater than the composite value at 55°C, 45°C, without curing and 65°C. For the average composite elastic of modulus which is 45°C, it is 3422.4317 GPa compared to 35°C, without curing, 55°C and 65°C.
