Abstract

Pre-elemenary design of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) for traffic has been done in previous research. One of the steps to be carried out is an aerodynamic experiment for the UAV using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). ANSYS CFX was used in the experiment for finding aerodynamic force. A 3D model of the UAV was made with CATIA software using geometry from previous research. The aerodynamic parameters that have been analyzed are CL, CD, and CL/CD which occurred with variations in angle of attack. Based on the analysis with ANSYS CFX, CL, CD, dan CL/CD values can be obtained. At the 0 deg angle of attack, a sufficient lift value has not been obtained for the aircraft to be lifted. The satisfactory lift value is found at an angle of attack of 7.5 deg with CL value of 0.9289. The CL max value is found at 22.5 deg angle of attack with the value of 2.0607. The value of CD at 0 deg angle of attack is 0.02973. CL/CD max is at 5 deg angle of attack with value of 13.2195.
