Abstract

Air transportation is a mode of transportation that will continue to increase in the future. As the operation of the aircraft increases, it is very likely that problems will occur, in order to reduce the possibility of problems occurring, maintenance is needed so that the aircraft can return to its original state. Development in aircraft maintenance is needed, including by analyzing the failures that occur. The analysis was carried out on the pneumatic system of the Boeing 737-900 ER aircraft PK-LFF using the failure mode and effect analysis method to determine the RPN value in failure mode in order to recommend the appropriate type of maintenance. The failure mode and effect analysis method is an analysis that is carried out by identifying the failures that occur and then given an assessment according to the criteria for severity, occurrence and detection levels then added together to get a risk priority number RPN value. In the FMEA table there is a description of the failure mode, the effect of the failure of the given action and the value of severity, occurrence and detection. The conclusion obtained is that the identification results show that there are 3 groups of failures such as engines 1 and 2 experiencing pressure differences 12 times with low pressure on one of the engines, the bleed trip off lamp lights up 2 times and high pressure indication 1 time. The failures that occur are caused by several components including 390°f sensor, 450°f sensor, bleed air regulator, precooler control valve, high stage regulator and high stage valve.
