Abstract

In research on mortar bombs, it will be examined what possibilities will be made Mortar bombs when dropped experience rotation caused by the influence of the force principle torque which will be affected by several variables such as wind coming perpendicularly hit a mortar bomb which can be assumed to be a force perpendicular to arm or the direction of the mortar bomb when it fell, then there is the force arm which is directly related with the applied force and assumed to be the distance between the parts affected by the force with hinge parts or those that are not subject to force, and there will be corners or angles that will affect the position of the mortar bomb dropped. The experiment was carried out by means of a simulation using software, which will it is simulated that the mortar design added tail stabilizer modification is expected when dropped vertically the first part that will fall to the surface is the tip / tip has a detonator and triggers a warhead. The results obtained that the mortar bomb with fin modification with a length of 7.5 cm and a width of 2 cm with a thickness of 1 mm is tail stabilizer with the best shape because from the analysis using ansys it is obtained the calculated force and moment results are close to 0. The conclusions that can be drawn from the modified research on the MU 27 mortar bomb are as follows. Of all the modifications to the mortar bomb that has been made, namely the bomb mortar with square shape, mortar bomb with circle shape and mortar bomb with the circle design have more acuration with assumption that moment on X axis and Y axis and the value close to 0. Because of that mortar bomb have more acuration.
