Abstract
Aircraft must pay attention to all aspects of maintenance and care for safety and comfort when the aircraft is operating. The slightest damage to an aircraft can jeopardize the safety of passengers during flight. The purpose of aircraft maintenance is to maintain, repair, maintain and extend the life of a system or a component to its original condition so that the aircraft is in an airworthiness condition. The frequent occurrence of engine no light up is one of the causes of ignition system failure which results in the engine not starting. Failure analysis and reliability calculation using the Fault Tree Analysis method and Weibull Distribution by first looking for failures using the Fault Tree Analysis method on the Ignition System component, then looking for the reliability calculation of the component using the Weibull Distribution. Based on the analysis using the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method, 127 failures were obtained on the Ignition System consisting of 1 top event, 9 intermediete events, 6 undeveloped events and 12 basic events on the ignition system failure with the CFM56-7B engine type Boeing 737-900ER aircraft. It was found that the Igniter Plug component is the component that most often fails, which is a total of 98 times. For the calculation of reliability on igniter plug components based on time failure 15334 hours is 90.34% and continues to decrease over time until the time failure 30336 hours with a reliability value of 5.23%. Based on the interpretation of the beta (β) value of the Igniter Plug component found in Ignition System Chapter 74 with P/N 9072215-1 is increasing, where the value of β = 4.939233275, in accordance with the Weibull Analysis theoretical basis, the value of β> 1 indicates that this component is included in the failure implies wear out.
